Informing Priorities and Policy

The Practice Directorate plans to use the system to capture other information about how psychologists are using their time, whether it be providing clinical services, teaching, supervision, or other activities being imposed on them by health plans. Some of the early questions the Practice Directorate plans to address include: How are health plans utilization management practices affecting the care psychologists are providing to their clients? What kinds of clinical problems are psychologists seeing more often or less often? What services are they providing? Have recent publicized events such as a natural disaster or a school shooting affected psychology practices?

Information from PracticeNet will be used to inform Practice Directorate initiatives and in the Directorate's advocacy efforts on behalf of the profession of psychology with federal and state legislatures, government agencies, health care policy makers and health care systems.
