PracticeNet is a system developed by the APA Practice Directorate to harness the power of the internet to provide instantaneous and continuously updated information about what is happening in professional psychology. PracticeNet involves a unique application of Real Time Behavior Sampling (RTBS) methodology that eliminates biases in other more traditional survey methods. The system is designed to capture specific moments, or snapshots, of practitioner activity. Over time, the snapshots will combine to provide a detailed and accurate picture of practice.

The internet-based methodology that APA has designed for this project is so unique that APA has filed a patent application for it.
